LOTTERY & ENROLLMENT

LOTTERY APPLICATION PROCESS

Pasco County residents in grades K – 12 are eligible to attend Dayspring Academy through an equal opportunity lottery process. Learners residing outside of Pasco County may also participate in the lottery; however, priority enrollment is given to Pasco County residents.

GET YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED
A public Lottery Information Session will be in the beginning of 2025 to allow families to meet our amazing teachers and administrative staff and also inquire about our school. Information about this session will be posted on the Dayspring website, Facebook, our school communications platform, and an advertisement placed in the local newspaper to serve as public notice of this session.

APPLY
Our open Lottery Application period begins on February 1 at 8 AM and closes on March 7 at 11:59 pm. Lottery application forms received after 11:59 pm March 7,  will result in the learner being placed on the waitlist. Lottery application forms are submitted online via the Dayspring website during the February open application period to be included in the lottery drawing. You must submit (1) lottery application for each child you want entered into our lottery.

NOTIFICATIONS
In late March, parents/guardians will be notified via email of their child’s enrollment status. Parents/guardians must accept or decline the enrollment opportunity within 3 days of being notified. If acceptance notification is not received by Dayspring Academy within 3 days, the opening will be offered to the next child on the waiting list.

WAITING LIST
Learners who are not selected through the lottery process will be placed on the waiting list. The waiting list does not roll over to the following school year, therefore, if your learner does not enroll in Dayspring Academy during the current school year, you will need to reapply in February for the following school year.

Priority on the wait list is given to the following applicants, per Florida Statutes 1002.33(10), and federal and state nondiscrimination laws:

1 Children of current Dayspring Academy employees*

*Please note: only full or part-time employees are eligible for employee status. Substitute teacher positions do not meet this criteria, and therefore do not qualify for employee status when submitting a Lottery application.

2 Children of founding Dayspring Academy Board members

3 Siblings of currently enrolled Dayspring Academy learners

4 Children of an active duty member of any branch of the United States Armed Forces (does not apply to the Dayspring Angeline - 4301 & Jazz - 4334 campus)

SIBLINGS
Please note: If you would like to enroll ANY school-age siblings in Dayspring (K-12) or Dayspring’s Little Scholars, a lottery application form must be completed for EACH sibling. In order to be eligible for sibling status, the child must be a sibling of a current* Dayspring Academy student and must NOT be currently enrolled in Dayspring Academy. *Current Dayspring learners are defined as those learners who are enrolled at Dayspring during the month of March of the current school year.
